Privacy policy

AMAR Motors respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

• Enquiries and viewing requests: your name, phone number, email (if you give it), your message, the car you asked about and the time you'd like to view.
• "Sell your car" requests: your car's number plate, kilometres, condition, any photos you upload, your name, phone, email and suburb.
• Technical information: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. We remember your light or dark mode choice in your browser.

Why we collect it

We use your information to answer your questions, arrange viewings, make offers on cars you want to sell, and to meet our legal obligations as a motor vehicle trader. We won't sell your information, and we won't send you marketing unless you ask us to.

Where it's stored

Form submissions and photos are stored securely with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in Sydney, Australia. The website is hosted by Vercel. Both providers protect information to standards comparable to New Zealand's.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and offers only as long as we need them for the purpose you gave them, or as long as the law requires us to keep business records.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact us using support@amarmotors.co.nz. If you're not happy with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
